So a few people have asked how to get started with Digital Scrapbooking - great question - glad a few of you think it might just work for you too. One other great thing with digital is that you can create a page - then just change one or two pictures around and you have a second page done (for a second child). I have yet to do it but for instance the Sisterly Love picture I posted yesterday as a favorite. I just need to change the journaling and it can go in the babies book also -- I did not have to create an entirely new page!!!! Talk about double dipping --- or if you have more than two, triple dipping!
So anyways... how to do it:
The quick and simple answer is go to Smilebox and just drop your pictures in - add some text. You can also create albums there to e-mail, put on your blog etc. This isn't truly scrapbooking -- I would call it more memory preservation but if that is all the time you have - it works.
If you want to do what looks like more of a traditional scrapbook page check out these resources:

There are TONS of FREE kits (meaning paper, elements, etc.) out there but I will warn you -- they take up hard drive space, so don't download unless you think you might actually use them. I personally downloaded about 200GB in the first oh 2-3 months - since then I have deleted about 150GB of that (all of which took time). I do still grab a few freebies here and there but for the most part my supplies come from Britt-ish Designs, I love her style of creating and the kits are so versitle. Check out the gallery of things created with her stuff. If you want to check out her store at ScrapMatters and see what a great quality designer creates that way when you go to download freebies you can see the difference.
Check back tomorrow for information about printing your pages.
Hope that helps some of you out! If you have more questions feel free to ask and I will see what I can answer (or find the answer for you).

Krisi - thanks for posting this! I'm going to check out some of the sites today. I also appreciate the heads-up on not downloading too many layouts ... that's a good point, and probably one I wouldn't have thought of until I overdid it. Happy scrapping to all of us!
