My fondest childhood memory involving this time of year is… the year we moved to Antioch (1987). It was a LONG way to the new city we were moving to, but we were moving to a house – one with a swimming pool none the less. It was exciting, the first winter was so cold everything froze. The driveway was like an ice skating rink and I remember when Granddad came to visit with Mimi and Linda and he slipped and fell. It was nice to be just moved into a new place in a new city.
{Honestly I don't remember all that many holidays - maybe with a little prompting from my mom I would remember more of them. Mom - if you are reading this... we need to sit down and discuss all the holidays so I can accurately document them! I do remember one where I was getting my own phone line -- no not a cell phone -- but a phone in my room with a phone number of my own. I ended up being home the day the phone man came to install it - oops!}
