This is an e-mail I got from my grandma (Mommom) and since we have been on vacation and I don't have a post for today I am going to copy and paste her idea here!
Here is something that I have been doing for many years. Every time I get some money I was not expecting such as bingo winnings, savings from coupons, money paid to dentist by insurance, (that's money not out of my pocket) savings at the dollar store etc. I write it all down each month, add it up at the end of the month and also at the end of the year. You would be surprised at how much you save. I have saved hundreds that I didn't expect or think of. And it puts you in a frugal frame of mind.
There you have it my grandma giving her ideas on a blog (imagine that!). I know that she writes the savings on her calendar in the kitchen so when she gets home she writes it down on the day the savings occur then adds it up at the end of the month.
