the start of the tour

We decided on doing the double decker bus tours. There are 4 tours you can do (downtown, uptown, Brooklyn and lights at night). The tour left from Times Square – WOW is all that I can say when we entered Times Square. While in Times Square we stopped and grabbed a hot dog, pretzel and nuts (we had not had breakfast) from the street vendors. They were all pretty good except I think we ended up with a spicy hot dog not a regular one.

I thought I had a picture of us in Times Square the first day... guess not! We did take one - it will come later in my postings.

The place to pick up our actual boarding tickets was in the information center and in there was the ball that drops.

The room was dark and in order to get a picture the camera needed to be in manual mode – every time we gave the camera to someone to take one of the two of us it turned out like this…

So here is one that is just straight from the camera that I got of Adam.

Once we got our tickets we went right over to the tour bus (it was still pretty early – around 11) and we made sure we would be able to sit on the top of the bus. The views from way up there were great and having the open top allowed for good picture taking.

While this picture wasn’t from the start of the tour – you can see here how high up we were.

This was not on zoom – and yes the light is red and the bus and we were still under the light!

We started with the downtown tour.

Macy’s (while not a huge shopper of Macy’s – ok hardly ever – I still felt obligated to take a picture of it!)

I will post more later this week of the rest of the tour (it was pretty long!)
