We did pretty good this week and then this month overall. It was a great start to 2009.
Budget wise for going out to eat we did very well - not counting our vacation - we did go over if we include that but it would have been hard to keep a $100 budget when on vacation for a week.
For the month of February we plan on going to Benihana's for Valentines day with a gift card I got for a health program at work. I will still count this towards our February out to eat budget but at least it is not any "real" money spent.
Our menu worked well last week - things got adjusted around but we didn't need the chili last week and Adam decided he didn't want Meatloaf so we had the frozen pizza that day. Then Saturday we bought a $5 Little Ceasers pizza and went out for Mexican. So some of last weeks items will be showing up this week.
I got some bread made - the recipe came from Cook Something, Even if its Wrong. It was very good. By the way she has a bunch of blog posts about Menu Planning and even some downloadable menu plans that you can fill in - definitely check it out!
Here is a picture of the Oatmeal bread and then the salad and pizza we had.
The salad had black beans, corn, tomatoes, cilantro, a couple crushed up tortilla chips and a little cojita cheese. I just used a thinned down ranch on top. The pizza was a garlic chicken from Costco, the ones on coupon last week.
This week we plan on using some stuff out of the freezer.
