{Project Life} Week 5

I can hardly believe the first week of February is OVER! Time is sure flying by. I headed back to work yesterday after being off since the 2nd of January when I got appendicitis and have my appendix removed. The girls will need some time to adjust I think, but dad will do awesome – as always.

Here are my pages for this week. I really planned to get an early start on them and started placing the pictures I thought I wanted to use onto the template as I had time, but alas… I didn’t make the time so it was never there.

Last Sunday I realized I was addicted to sugar… anyone else out there addicted to sugar? It was funny that later in the week they talked about the studies done and how they want to regular sugar like alcohol and tobacco. Anyway… back to the week – my week was rough those first few days, basically detoxing from the sugar. I am feeling great now and able to resist temptation – even the cupcake on the counter or the ice cream we the family had for a treat tonight.

Here are my pages…

The journaling..

Sunday we made more bread - since the month wasn’t over and we needed bread for sandwiches. We gave a loaf to Nana & Papa Tom when we went to go see them. I had to take this picture of Rachel to show what our kitchen often looks like - stools and small chairs all around so they can always be helping.  Rebecca got a fresh orange from her Primary teacher - she was so excited to have us cut it for her. Sunday started a new system for chores - which didn’t work out as well as we would have liked. Will try a new system next week. On Monday I got a new template completed - even though my ink cartridge was out of some colors - the bag was suppose to have some green in it! Monday was a restart for me the first day of me going no sugar - after a HUGE sugar binge on Sunday night I knew it was time to make the change, again. I was at the gym for 2 hours - that is me (one extreme to the other).  Tuesday was AWFUL I felt yucky, had a headache, craved everything I shouldn’t have - and since I wasn’t feeling great I didn’t remember to take pictures these days. Rebecca went bowling with girl scouts and Rachel got to play with Kevin & Abigail.

February 1st - wow it came so fast. Wednesday included a Parents Club meeting, Rachel went to the doctors today - her stomach has been bothering her. We are going to try taking Zantac for a few weeks and see if that helps her. Rachel made a fun groundhog craft for groundhogs day.  Groundhog Phil saw his shadow - we have 6 more weeks of winter - which if they are like the winter we have had so far will not be so bad. For February we are going to continue our pantry challenge but on a less strict scale and we will also be doing a room declutter challenge. I decided to tackle our bathroom, master closet and bedroom - all of which need some help! We had a Chuck E Cheese fundraiser Wednesday night and afterwards I went to WinCo for some vegetables and fruits. I got brussels sprouts - for a new recipe I found - it was really good.  It has been nice to be experimenting again.  Day 3 without sugar was much easier than Day 2!

Thursday has been considered a girls day - Adam has his meeting early and I request Thursdays off so we get to hangout together. Usually he is able to come home in the afternoon but her was really busy at work today so we had all afternoon without him.  Rebecca went to dance and then we got a new Kirby vacuum - from someone on Craigslist and then stopped a Trader Joes for a couple basics. Friday we went back to that shopping center right after school to shop at Michale’s - they had coupons out for $5 off $5 purchases - they had fun on  their little shopping spree. Took pictures of the girls at bedtime to send to dad. Rebecca rearranged her room - she takes after her mom for sure!

Friday was a fun day with Rachel and we got some chores around the house done. We are really working on trying new places to eat - this night we tried Pho Le a Vietnamese restaurant - it was pretty good. Going out to eat actually made Rebecca late to her cookie rally to learn about the different cookies they will be selling. Rachel enjoyed the one on one time when getting ready for bed. We are reading a Magic Tree House book - about the Titanic. It has been awhile since I have read a chapter book to Rachel - I miss having a story that continues night after night. We will have to start another one after this.

Saturday we packed it full - Adam went to a morning meeting while we did inside chores.  Once Adam came home we worked on the garage - the girls helped so we rewarded with Menchie’s yogurt (they were having their grand opening).  A trip into Raley’s and a yummy lunch (Sausage & Peppers) filled the afternoon, before we attended a baptism. Afterwards we all headed to Michaels to use the coupons again. We stopped at Subway for a sandwich and paired it with leftovers, and veggies.
