Journaling (written as if I had done it that day):
My life changing surgery was yesterday. Today is the
first day on a journey that has no end which leads to a
“new” me. While I will always be the same on the inside - the
outside will be changing. Last night at the hospital was rough, I
was in pain most of the night. The only thing that made me feel
better was walking so, I walked around the unit for most of it,
the nurses probably thought I was crazy. I knew the pain would be
in my shoulder, just like after my gallbladder surgery a few years
ago. When Dr. Chin asked if I was ready to go home I said I
couldn’t be more ready - so around 1pm I was already headed
home. These pictures were taken tonight, they are blurry but
reflective - I think I don’t realize how much this surgery is going
to change things for me and my family.
