Mom's Monday Memories

Well this past weekend has been memorable for sure!

Saturday we went to a birthday party for Donovan and Aiden and afterwards Rebecca wanted to get her ears pierced. Ear piercing is something we wanted the girls to decide when they wanted it done as they are alot of work to maintain in the beginning. She was ready.  Afterwards we stopped by a furniture store that we have used in the past and got a mattress for Rebecca, she really needed to be in a twin bed. Not sure there are many Kindergartners still in toddler beds! So... onto the pictures so you can see for yourself.

I will need to take new "new" bed photos with the curtains open. The purple of the curtain put a tint on everything in the room! But I wanted to share the shots anyway.

Ooops... realized mom was right when I said it was going to hurt more than the shots she had just gotten for kindergarten!

But after the tears were gone, she was all smiles and a giddy girl for having earrings!

Before that on Saturday was the party. Here are the birthday boys:

It was a pirate themed party and the kids got eye patches. Rachel tried wearing that patch all over her face.

The cakes Frankie made were fabulous. The pirate ship was so realistic looking.

Rebecca is now doing chores to earn money for everything (tv watching, computer play, buying her toys back that she has left out -- don't worry we only charge 25-50 cents for them) and this day she made our bed for us (so appreciated!).

Earlier in the week we also went for a haircut. Rebecca needed a trim to clean up all the raggedy ends and get it ready for the start of school.  She cried and cried about me making her hair get cut "short" again. But as you can see there was basically no length taken, only about 1/4 to 1/3 inch came off and it looks SO much better.

Oh yeah Rachel is learning her colors, she knows yellow, orange, white - always gets those right, but also knows blue, and green. Kids are just so smart and boy do they grow up fast!
