Adam has ALWAYS wanted a mini cooper, of course the one he talks about is all "tricked out" but he saw one down at the corner by our house for sale. He took the girls down one afternoon on their bikes - that is how Rachel got this scrape on the chin - which looked worse, got a little better and then she started picking at it and made it look awful!
He didn't call just kept talking about it ... then it was gone. Inside I was like "yes... it sold!". Then after the holidays it appeared again. Then he called, and went for a test drive. I made him to all the work about checking insurance prices etc. Said he needed to sell his car - we can't afford insurance on four vehicles {van, car, car and motorcycle}.
So yesterday it all happened.
10am - He got this:

Yep it happened all in one day. His put his car on Craigslist at 4pm Tuesday. Someone called around 6:00 and said they wanted to come that night to buy it (from San Jose). I was a little leary about that plus I was on my way to a meeting. Thankfully he called back and said his ride couldn't bring him up tonight but tomorrow afternoon he would be here with cash and NOT to sell it. Adam got more calls during the next 18 hours but let them know someone was coming and he would call them back if it didn't sell. He bought it. Thank goodness!
He took us for a little drive {the first time I drove in it was after he bought it} In fact I had not even really seen it until we were buying it! After he insisted that I drive it as well - I think he secretly wanted to see me flounder driving a standard again. I did perfect {thankfully} even under the pressure. I really dislike driving stick - I have to think WAY to much - but it is cute and it did drive nicely.
