The girls have an allowance system that is similar to the real world {i think}. They can do various chores - some are things they should do everyday without getting paid for like like 5 cents for brushing their teeth - they have no clue how much they are getting paid for things but it encourages brushing - you should try it!
Moving the clothes into the washer, from washer to dryer and then out to the basket for mom to fold get them 20 cents {probably some child labor laws being broken in our house}. Basically the more it helps us out the more we pay for it!
Yard work 10cents -- which is for a quick - we did it mom but sometimes they really impress us. I snapped these pictures from upstairs on Monday when they were down sweeping up all the leaves in the "sitting" area. They worked on Saturday and Monday for probably a good 1 1/2 hours between both days - Rebecca worked much harder than Rachel but I gave $1 to Rebecca and 50 cents to Rachel.
They don't get the money right away - I have an app in my phone called Chore Bank and I store it up for a little while - I am not good about paying them out each week. But they are excited to get their own money to spend each week when we go to garage sales. They pay their tithing first, then save 50% for a "big" item and can spend the other half.
If you want to know the full list of things we pay for let me know and I will post it for you! My new favorite that I recently added is going right to bed -- 25 cents {the best quarter I can spend all day long!}
