Tackle it Tuesday

Well Queen of Scrap has been over for 8 days now - I finally got the kitchen all the way clean last night! And on Friday I finally got all the laundry put away (we won't mention there is two more baskets to get put away already).

Here are the pictures taken the Sunday night QOS ended (no one needs to tell me this is gross - I know). BTW this is after neglecting it most of the month (for a deep cleaning) and not doing ANYTHING to clean it up for 4 days.

And now (closer to what it usually looks like).

I tackled other things as well this week, including laundry:

So those 4 baskets are all clean - they are also all folded. These are from the month of May when housework took a major back seat to Queen of Scrap at ScrapMatters. I did get laundry done during the month (necessity to have clean undies) but we had to dig through the baskets to find what we wanted to wear.

So here is a picture of it all out of the baskets and sorted - ready to go into the drawers (which by the way were all empty in the kids room and my shirt drawer was just about empty).

I don't have another one showing that I actually put it away... but I did - promise!

I also cleaned up the bathroom (which I forgot to take an after picture of - so not showing the before!), and straightened up around the dining room table.

For those that just read this and can't figure out why my house got so messy and are not sure what Queen of Scrap is. It was a contest that ScrapMatters (a digital scrapbook community) hosted. The 10 people with the most layouts had a chance to be on their creative team as a guest. Well I was in the top 10 and became a Princess of Scrap - so it was worth it to have a messy house.

After all it was clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be fun.

To see what other people have tackled check out Tackle it Tuesday (5 Minutes for Mom).

Sounds like a fun contest and worth letting everything else go for. Sometimes it is good to just let the house go and not worry about it - but of course, then you have the big clean up afterwords. Great tackle!!!

Wow! Your kitchen is beautiful! Great job on the contest, btw. I love scrap booking too, but rarely find time for it anymore. I guess my blog has become my current scrap book...sort of.

Thanks for stopping by!
